After an auto accident, coordinating your care can feel overwhelming. You may have discharge instructions, new symptoms, imaging appointments, and questions about what happens next. Florida Injury Centers uses telemedicine to help you stay connected with a physician as your care progresses.
Start with a physician evaluation
During a video visit, your physician reviews the collision history, symptoms, prior treatment, medications, and available records. Explain how the injuries affect your daily activities and what concerns you most. The physician uses that information to guide the next steps and decide whether an in-person examination is needed.
Connect virtual visits with local care
Telemedicine is one part of FIC’s injury-care model. Your plan may include imaging, physical therapy, chiropractic care, orthopedics, neurology, or pain management when clinically appropriate. Hands-on examinations, procedures, and rehabilitation take place in person with the appropriate providers.
Keep your care moving
Follow-up visits provide an opportunity to review available results, discuss treatment response, and adjust the plan. FIC’s staff helps coordinate appointments and obtain reports. Tell the team if scheduling, transportation, or another barrier makes it difficult to complete a recommended step. Learn about new or changing symptoms after a collision and when to seek care.
Coordinate with your existing providers
If you have already visited an emergency department, urgent care center, or your primary care physician, share those details. FIC can help coordinate continued injury care and communicate relevant information with your treating providers. With appropriate authorization, medical documentation can also be shared with your attorney.
Know when in-person or emergency care comes first
A video visit cannot provide every examination or treatment. Your physician may direct you to an in-person evaluation. For a medical emergency, call 911 rather than waiting for a virtual appointment.
Prepare for your visit
Choose a private setting with a stable connection. Have your identification, current location, medications, and available discharge paperwork ready. Ask the office about insurance and payment arrangements for your situation.
