Florida Injury Centers evaluates and follows auto-injury patients, coordinates clinically indicated diagnostics and specialty care, and maintains continuity across the injury episode. Orthopedic and pain specialists can focus on specialty evaluation and treatment while FIC coordinates the broader medical pathway.

How the Co-Management Pathway Works

1. FIC Evaluates & Coordinates

We identify patients who may benefit from orthopedic or pain-management evaluation and coordinate relevant clinical information, records, and diagnostics.

2. Your Practice Provides Specialty Care

Your physicians evaluate and treat within their specialty and communicate clinically relevant recommendations.

3. FIC Maintains Continuity

We continue the broader injury-care follow-up and help keep the medical pathway organized across providers.

Referrals Can Work in Both Directions

FIC can refer appropriate auto-injury patients to participating orthopedic and pain-management practices. When a specialist receives an auto-injury patient who needs a physician-led medical home for broader injury follow-up, that patient can also be referred to Florida Injury Centers for coordinated care.

Communication Without Duplication

With appropriate authorization, relevant records and updates can be routed between FIC and the treating specialist. The orthopedic or pain physician remains responsible for specialty care, while FIC helps coordinate the larger injury-care episode.

Clinical independence and patient choice remain central. Referral decisions are based on the patient’s clinical needs, appropriate provider availability, and the patient’s choice.

What FIC Continues to Bring to the Case

Medical Continuity

FIC remains available as the patient’s medical home for the injury episode, helping coordinate follow-up, medication management when appropriate, work status, and communication across the treatment team.

Organized Documentation

When clinically supportable, FIC can provide injury-specific medical documentation and causation opinions and help organize the longitudinal record as the patient progresses through care.
