WHIPLASH & NECK INJURY CARE

Whiplash Treatment After a Car Accident in Florida

Neck pain and stiffness after a motor vehicle collision may be caused by whiplash, also called a whiplash-associated disorder. Symptoms can begin soon after the crash or become more noticeable later.

Florida Injury Centers provides physician-led evaluation, individualized treatment planning, coordinated referrals, and structured follow-up for patients with whiplash and other auto-injury symptoms.

Whiplash Symptoms After an Accident

Whiplash can follow the rapid back-and-forth movement of the neck that occurs in a collision. Common symptoms include neck pain or stiffness, reduced range of motion, headache, shoulder or upper-back discomfort, muscle tenderness, and sometimes dizziness, tingling, fatigue, sleep disturbance, or difficulty concentrating.

Because symptoms and severity vary, persistent, worsening, or neurologic symptoms deserve medical evaluation rather than a one-size-fits-all treatment plan.

Medical Evaluation

The physician reviews how the collision occurred, current symptoms, prior conditions, medications, functional limitations, and examination findings to determine the appropriate next steps.

Treatment & Rehabilitation

Depending on the patient’s findings and stage of recovery, care may include medication management, activity guidance, therapeutic exercise, physical therapy, chiropractic care, or other conservative treatment when clinically appropriate.

Imaging & Specialty Care

X-rays, MRI, or specialty consultation are not necessary for every whiplash patient. When symptoms, examination findings, or recovery indicate a need, FIC can coordinate appropriate imaging and referrals to orthopedics, pain management, neurology, or other specialists.

Why Follow-Up Matters

Many people improve with appropriate conservative care, but recovery is not identical for every patient. Follow-up allows the physician to reassess pain, range of motion, neurologic symptoms, sleep, daily activities, work limitations, and response to treatment.

If recovery is not progressing as expected, the care plan can be adjusted and additional evaluation or specialty referral considered.

Physician-Led Whiplash Care Across Florida

FIC’s medical-home model keeps the physician involved as care progresses. We can coordinate appropriate conservative treatment, imaging, and specialty care while maintaining structured medical documentation and follow-up.
